Update from WOMEN'S WAY Young Women's Initiative
WOMEN'S WAY and the YWI is hosting an event on March 6th at 6:00 at Moore College of Art.  The Ernesta Drinker Ballard Book Prize honors a female author for her work in advancing the dialogue about women’s rights. The event celebrates Ann Fessler for " The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades before Roe v. Wade." In this deeply moving and myth-shattering work, Ann Fessler unearths the astonishing untold history of the million and a half women who surrendered children for adoption due to enormous family and social pressure in the decades between World War II and Roe v. Wade. The event will include an award ceremony and presentation by author Ann Fessler, followed by a book signing and reception.

At 5:15 join the Young Women's Initiative for an intimate discussion with author Ann Fessler just before she receives WOMEN'S WAY's Ernesta Drinker Ballard Book Prize. Ann will answer questions, discuss her process for researching and writing The Girls Who Went Away , and give advice to aspiring authors and activists.
