Girls Just Wanna Have Funds is dedicated to the woman that wants to take charge of her personal finances. We value budgeting, investing, frugality and remain mindful of our spending habits. Move over and make way for women who are in control of their financial destinies and not afraid to say it. We’re armed with a positive net worth and not afraid to flaunt it while breaking financial ceilings one stiletto at a time!
About Ginger
I am a twenty something fashionista, wife and graduate student striving to have it all. What is having it all? The man, the house and the picket fence- now that I’ve gotten all of that, this is where I discuss my weekly struggles with balancing a marriage, finances, graduate school and my career.
This meetup began in an effort to educate and enlighten women (and men) about personal finance. I figure that there is nothing more that I could add than is already out there but I do have a unique perspective based on my own life and experiences. I wanted to start this blog in an effort to detail my own financial struggles, decisions and goals in an effort to give me motivation and remain accountable.
Being a successful late 20 something married to a successful 30 something our salaries increased substantially each year since being together. With that comes the struggle of saving and spending money wisely. We’ve made good financial decisions however we’ve also made some bad ones, mostly due to my shopping habit.
However, this year we bought a house, started a baby fund, paid down debt and learned how to merge our finances as a married couple since getting married in 2006. These are all things we weren’t taught as children and so learning from others (family, friends, personal finance bloggers) gave us the basic tools to start. Now that we have a greater understanding of personal finance and what works for us we would like to broaden our horizons by sharing this part of our lives with the rest of you. And, hopefully you will teach us a few things as well.
Please keep in mind that although we may discuss financial topics and strategies we are not a financial advisors and any information you read here is not to be taken as financial advice but merely personal opinions. For financial advice please consult a professional.
I expect this website to grow and evolve as I do so don’t be surprised if my views change a bit or happen to be different from the mainstream. Please feel free to leave suggestions and comments as Im happy to hear what works and what does not.
