Hi all,

Some of you may have come across this problem before… so I need you help…

One of our adopters at GALPR (Get A Life Pet Rescue) recently adopted a cute little Chi-weenie. However, after living with her for the past 2 days they have discovered that the Mom of the Chi-parent (who lives with them) might be allergic to this baby. She has been congested and sneezing for the past 24 hours (this has never happened to her before)...

The good news is that they are trying to be responsible adoptive parents and find a solution to the problem without giving back this baby (who they have already fell in love with)... So here is where I need your help...

Have any of you had a similar problem and do you know of a certain shampoo that reduces the amount of your pet's dander? Do you have any other recommendations, etc.

Please help keep this Chi-weenie in her new home!!

<![CDATA[Good people doing great things: animal welfare in Mexico]]> http://www.meetupalliance.com/PAWSUNITED/discuss/2059
I would like to introduce you to the Hope Animal Network. It's a dynamic resource organized around advancing the welfare of animals in Mexico (and beyond) through collaboration, awareness and resource development.

Please take a minute to check us out: http://hopeanimalnetwork.ning.com/

Show your support and sign-up on the site, build a quick profile and say hello!

----

More information and a background on the Hope Animal Network:

This online community is just one very small slice of the larger pie that will help feed, shelter and care for disadvantaged animals in Mexico.

I created this site to help connect everyone involved (or interested in getting involved) with giving assistance to animals in need. What I noticed on a trip to Mexico changed me; I couldn't turn away. Animals there--though obviously loved by the community--are simply not getting the care they need due to the largely impoverished condition of the local human population. I witnessed desperate cases first hand. There are untreated conditions. There are broken legs. There is hunger. And sorry to drop a bomb here, but there is suffering.

But it's not an entirely grim situation. In fact, the community often looks like a paradise for dogs. You can see them playing on the beach, wagging their tails, resting in the shade, being fed by local shop owners, coddled by tourists and roaming freely in their lush, expansive backyard which is Mexico.

What I've noticed however, is that although there are numerous organizations and individuals doing good things, it seems that not everybody knows what everybody else is doing. A link connecting local animal welfare initiatives combined with a link to people and resources abroad needs to be established. Hence, the creation of Hope Animal Network.

Your participation is critical. Build your profile, post questions, say 'thanks' or a simple 'hello' to the group. With your help we can make a difference!

Cheers,

Shawn

<![CDATA[~~ P l e a s e HELP NorCal Boxer Rescue win $10,000 !!! ~~]]> http://www.meetupalliance.com/PAWSUNITED/discuss/2027 Hello Fellow Dog Lovers!

I just received this email from a fellow Boxer lover .... if you could please take a moment to vote , I personally would very much appreciate it. NorCal Boxer Rescue does GREAT work, and the $10,000 (yes, that's right, TEN-THOUSAND-dollars!!!) prize would go a VERY long way in helping save Boxers.

Also, please feel free to pass this along to every dog lover you know ... time is limited ... the contest ends in 2 days!!

Thanks so much!!

Boxer Hugs,
~Pamela~
Twin Cities Boxer Club

P.S. I know that there are many awesome Rescue groups out there, and I know that you may wish to include your group in this contest ... BUT ... there are only 2 (two) days left of this contest, and NorCal Boxer Rescue has a real, real, chance of winning (they had 6000+ 6720 votes, last time I checked ... vying for 1st place! ) ... so, please resist signing-up a smaller rescue that has no chance to get this many votes in 2 days, and place your vote for NorCal Boxer Rescue instead! THANK YOU!!! [:D][:x][:)]

******************************************************

Hi Pamela,

My name is Holly Gordner and I volunteer with NorCal Boxer
Rescue
of Texas. We are currently in an online contest to win
$10,000 . I was hoping you might be able to help me spread the
word to your boxer meet up group. It is free, all we need is
for you and everyone you know, to vote at the following link:
http://www.care2.com/animalsheltercontest/69408/?refer=3535.14.1222...
If you can help, please post the following note to your group
and pass it along to any other boxer/or non boxer people that
you know. We and all the Boxers appreciate any support you can
give us.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Fellow Boxer Lovers!!!

I'm posting to ask each of you to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the
time to support my Boxer Rescue group, NorCal Boxer Rescue
(NCBR)
. This group and our mission is something I hold VERY
near & dear to my heart!

We desperately need your help!! NCBR is participating in an
online contest to be named "America's Favorite Shelter" with a
grand prize of $10,000!!! Every single penny of the winnings
will go towards Boxer's, we have no employee's to pay or
buildings to maintain.

NCBR is the ONLY Boxer rescue group in the running at this
time, and the contest is over Saturday, November 1st at
midnight
. Your group has the ability to push us back into 1st
place before it ends. Even if only HALF of this group voted
for us, we would be that much closer to regaining our first
place standing and if everyone asked just one or two others to
vote for us as well, we'd be even that much more secure in our
1st place standing!!

Voting only takes a minute or two at the most, is FREE and you
will not receive any further emails from anyone, just a thank
you from the contest sponsors and that is all.

PLEASE.....it doesn't get any easier than this to do something
good for the world, not to mention something good for Boxer's
who are less fortunate than your own; Boxers who are living in
cold, dirty shelters without someone to love them, play with
them or, what really makes me so sad, nobody to appreciate the
joy & happiness they bring to us each day! All of us who love
Boxers know how important their people are to them. I beg you
to take a moment to think about how happy your Boxer's are when
you return home after being gone & then think how very sad and
heartbroken Boxer's living in shelters must be, not to mention
the utter confusion they must be feeling as to why they are
there in the first place. : (

If you do not wish to cast your vote yourself, but would allow
me to vote on your behalf, please reply to my email,
[address removed] with your first & last name, your email
address and your zip code & I will take care of voting for
you. That's even less time out of your life, yet will mean a
lifetime to many Boxer's who otherwise will absolutely not have
one.

If you are interested in learning more about the amazing ways
we help Boxers in need, please take a moment to visit our
website, www.rescueaboxer.org and watch the video on our
homepage. I encourage you to watch the video, it’s short and
you will quickly see the great services we provide these dogs!

Here is the link to the website to vote yourself:

http://www.care2.com/animalsheltercontest/69408/?refer=3535.14.1222...

Also, please consider passing this link along to your family
and friends. Anyone and everyone can vote, and each vote will
make a measurable difference. There is no cost or further
obligation, and voters can choose to remain anonymous if they
wish.

*****If multiple people want to vote from the same computer
they can, but they will need to delete the internet "cookies"
after each vote, and they must use a different e-mail address
or their vote will not be counted.

******Please note, only one vote per person and e-mail address.

My heartfelt thanks for taking the time to read this and for
your help as NCBR continues our mission to “Leave No Boxer
Behind”!
